John Higham and Reggie Fairchild to Board of Directors
CHARLESTON, South Carolina (May
2, 2007) – Sabal Medical, a privately held company providing medication safety solutions
to hospitals, announced today that John Higham and
Reggie Fairchild have been appointed to the company Board of Directors.
John Higham’s career spans 30+
years in the San Francisco Bay Area, leading engineering, marketing, and
business development activities at the executive level for several
venture-funded startup companies that successfully went public. Prior to joining Sabal’s board, John spent 12
years with Omnicell Corporation, a company recognized as one of Silicon
Valley’s fastest growing companies, and a
pioneer
in the automation of pharmaceuticals and supply management in acute care
hospitals.
John’s depth of experience in both domestic and international business,
as well as his expertise in creating hardware and software products for the
healthcare market, will play a key role in guiding Sabal Medical’s growth
moving forward. John has a BA in
Engineering from England’s Cambridge University, a Masters from Columbia
University, holds several US Patents on supply and pharmaceutical
dispensing technology, and has authored several technical
publications as well as co-authored a book on automation. John resides with his family in
Reggie Fairchild is an
entrepreneur, consultant, and investor, who spent 8
years during the 1990’s with America Online, launching some of the biggest
products in AOL’s history, including AOL 4.0, AOL Instant Messenger 2.0 (AIM
2.0), and AOL Voicemail. He was instrumental in the efforts to launch AOL 8.0,
improved versions of AOL for Broadband, AOL Search and many others. Prior to AOL, Reggie worked as a
consultant to the venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates and as an
Associate at Landmark Ventures, Inc. Reggie’s
extensive experience leading cross-functional teams from marketing, PR,
product research, user interface design, product marketing, project management,
software development, operations, and quality assurance, will add significant
value to Sabal’s board. He holds an MBA
